Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
1. Overview
Data Jackson ("we", "us", or "our") provides this Privacy Policy to explain what information we collect through datajackson.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
- Contact form submissions: name, email, phone number, company name, and the message you submit.
- Chat assistant: your email address (if you provide it) and the messages you exchange with our AI assistant.
- Local browser storage: we store your chat session state in your browser so your conversation can persist across visits.
- Financial account data (Plaid): if you use an account-linking feature on the Site, we collect data made available through Plaid, as described in Section 5 below.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Respond to consultation requests and contact form submissions
- Operate and improve the AI chat assistant
- Provide any financial account-linking features you choose to use
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on third-party providers to operate the Site, including OpenAI (to power the chat assistant) and Neon (for database hosting). Where a feature connects to your financial accounts, we also rely on Plaid Inc. ("Plaid"), described below. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security practices.
5. Financial Account Linking via Plaid
If the Site offers a feature to connect your bank account, we use Plaid Inc. to facilitate that connection and to access account data such as account and routing information (Auth), account balances (Balance), and transaction history (Transactions).
When you link a financial account, you will be asked to grant Plaid permission and authority to access and transmit your data on your behalf, and to select the specific use case for which your data will be used, as part of Plaid's Data Transparency Messaging consent flow. We only request the data scopes needed for the features you use.
Plaid's collection and use of your information is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for Plaid's handling of your data outside of the data it shares back with us. You can view or revoke third-party access to your linked accounts at any time via the Plaid Portal.
6. Data Retention & Security
We retain the information described above for as long as needed to provide our services and comply with legal obligations, and we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Your Choices
You may contact us at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to revoke a linked financial account. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable law (for example, the CCPA/CPRA in California).
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
